Frederick Locke, M.D.

Frederick Locke earned his bachelor’s degree at Michigan State University and his medical degree at Wayne State University. He is recently board certified in Internal Medicine after completing residency at Wayne State University and the Detroit Medical Center in June 2005. He was Chief Medical Resident at Detroit Receiving Hospital of the Detroit Medical Center. In July of 2006, he began a Hematology / Oncology fellowship at the University of Chicago.

Dr. Locke’s academic interests include the pursuit of novel cancer therapies and the improvement of medical education. He has conducted laboratory research on Monoclonal Antibody therapies for B-cell Lymphoma at the University of Michigan as well as on small molecule inhibitors of bcl-2 at the Karmanos Cancer Center and Wayne State University. Dr. Locke also has some experience with medical information technologies. He has served on the steering committee for the implementation of Computerized Physician Order Entry at the Detroit Medical Center and has assisted in the authoring of the Wayne State University department of medicine Web site.

His personal interests include skiing, swimming, hiking, and disc golf. He was a varsity athlete on the swim team at Michigan State University and was awarded the University’s Silver Medal for academic athletics.
