Robert Hayward, M.D.

As Director of the Centre for Health Evidence (CHE), Dr. Hayward focuses on the teaching and practice of evidence-based healthcare (EBHC). The CHE works with organizations at local, national and international levels to help develop online teaching and learning environments in the area of EBHC for practicing clinicians and other health care providers.

In his role as Associate Professor, he teaches courses on evidence-based decision-making and health informatics in the Department of Public Health Science's Clinical Epidemiology program. He is also involved in teaching medical students and residents in General Internal Medicine.His research interests focus on strategies for bringing best evidence to the bedside for improved decision-making. By developing, implementing and evaluating a wide range of front-line information systems for clinicians, he has accrued considerable experience and expertise in the area of health information systems integration.
