Rommel Sagana, M.D.

Dr. Rommel Sagana earned his bachelor’s degree at Bucknell University and his medical degree at Temple University. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Loyola University in July 2005, and is currently the Chief Resident of Internal Medicine there.

Dr. Sagana’s academic interests include pulmonary medicine and critical care. He has conducted research with Dr. Franco Laghi in COPD and presented an abstract of this research at the American Thoracic Society in May 2005.

Dr. Sagana was nominated for the Innovations in Leadership Program (January 2004 to March 2004) for his work in improving hospital policy along with representatives from nursing, housestaff and attendings. He was also elected group leader for the project, Disclosing Medical Errors.

He is the Resident Coordinator of Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS), where he recruits and schedules residents for evening clinics at a homeless shelter in Oak Park. In keeping with his altruistic nature, Dr. Sagana joined in Loyola University’s Hurricane Katrina relief effort and traveled to New Orleans to assist in the care and recovery of victims.

He’s fluent in Tagalog (Phillipines).
