Thomas Yackel, M.D., M.P.H., M.S.

Dr. Yackel has been practicing general internal medicine at OHSU since 2002. He graduated from medical school in 1996 with an M.D. and Master of Public Health degree from the George Washington University.

After completing his residency and serving as a chief resident at George Washington University, he came to Oregon for specialized training at OHSU and completed his Master of Science in Medical Informatics in 2002.

He is a Diplomate in Internal Medicine, American Board of Internal Medicine and participates in three committees at OHSU including the Clinical Information Systems Operations Committee, Medical Records Document Imaging Steering Committee and the Clinical Information Systems Steering Committee.

He also serves as a scientific reviewer for the Annals of Internal Medicine. Currently, Dr. Yackel is the physician champion for a large-scale electronic health record implementation at OHSU.

Dr. Yackel`s professional interests include caring for complex adult patients, teaching and promoting the use of clinical information systems and administrative medicine. In his free time, Dr. Yackel enjoys family activities, travel and volunteer work.
